Friends of the Saint Louis University Liver Center is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to raise funds to support the research efforts of the Saint Louis University Liver Center for the treatment and cure of liver diseases, and to promote understanding and awareness of liver disease.

We could not ask for a more beautiful location than Strathalbyn Farms Club! We lucked out again this year with great weather and participants enjoyed a wonderful morning at the 18th Annual Shoot for a Cure on Friday, May 15. It was wonderful to welcome many new team sponsors and shooters to the event along with all the returning teams. The Friends thank all sponsors, participants, volunteers, and committee members for helping us raise over $65,000! Awesome day spent with great people supporting research at the Saint Louis University Liver Center.

With corporate support and individual donations, we have been able to fund innovative Liver Center Seed Grants, support the purchase of essential lab equipment and research supplies that help bring new treatments and cures within reach.
Every dollar raised stays in St. Louis to support the Saint Louis University Liver Center — empowering physicians, researchers, and patients as they work together toward a healthier future.
Every medical breakthrough begins with an idea and a team determined to pursue it. The Friends believe in the curiosity of the Liver Center investigators and have supported 59 Liver Center Seed Grants, providing essential early funding that allows investigators to develop their projects, generate preliminary data, and position themselves to apply for external grants and publications.
The Friends’ fundraising events bring people together to deepen their understanding of liver disease, share timely research updates, and build a community committed to progress. These gatherings raise awareness, foster connection and inspire people to become involved. The Friends community of volunteers and financial donors has helped fund and advance research at the Saint Louis University Liver Center.
Liver Center Seed Grants, funded by the Friends, have been a catalyst for scientific discovery — empowering investigators to secure more than $36.2 million in external funding. This translates to an extraordinary 17.7-to-1 return on investment, underscoring the profound impact of donor support on advancing liver research.
Financial support has been allocated for minor and capital equipment to enhance clinical trial research and the basic science laboratories of Liver Center investigators.

By supporting groundbreaking research and providing the essential laboratory supplies and equipment our teams rely on, we ensure that the Saint Louis University Liver Center remains a global leader in discovery and innovation for years to come.
